Flowers

Flowers are probably the most patient subjects a photographer can find. They do not fly away, rarely argue with the lighting, and generally remain where they are planted, which is more cooperation than most living things offer.

Yet even a simple wild flower can be surprisingly difficult to photograph properly. The light must behave, the breeze must calm down, and the photographer must pretend to know what he is doing.

The photographs here are small attempts to capture those quiet, colourful moments before the wind changes its mind.
